As much as we love apple and pumpkin picking, sometimes our favorite part of fall is simply relaxing by the fire on a crisp evening. Since nothing goes better with a fire than a little comfort food, we’re sharing one of the simplest ways to whip up a tasty dish (without having to pause Netflix for too long!).

If you thought mac & cheese was just for kids’ menus, think again. We use Cabot’s naturally aged extra sharp white cheddar in our microwaveable Mac & Cheese to conjure up memories of mom’s homemade dish slowly thickening on the stove. Except our mac & cheese is ready in minutes so you don’t have to wait!

Use the mac & cheese as a base for your favorite toppings and flavors. Keep it simple for the kids with frozen peas, carrots and tomatoes. For a more grown-up version, mix in sautéed veggies and grilled chicken. Or, liberally garnish with shaved truffles for the quickest gourmet dinner.
